Installation: Brake Lever

Repeat for both front and rear levers. Tool needed: 4 mm hex key.

1. Loosen the Clamp Bolt — Back off the clamp bolt on the existing lever assembly until it slides freely along the handlebar.
2. Remove the Old Lever — Slide the lever assembly off the handlebar. Disconnect the brake cable if needed by backing off the barrel adjuster and releasing the cable anchor bolt.
3. Transfer the Cable to the New Lever — Thread the brake cable through the new lever's cable guide and seat the cable end into the lever's cable anchor.
4. Position the New Lever — Slide the new lever onto the handlebar at your preferred angle. A slight downward angle (10–15°) works well for most riders.
5. Tighten the Clamp Bolt — Snug the clamp bolt with a 4 mm hex key. Do not fully torque yet.
6. Adjust Reach — Use the reach adjuster to set lever distance from the bar to match your hand size and riding position.
7. Set Cable Tension — Use the barrel adjuster to dial in cable tension. The lever should engage braking within the first third of its travel.
8. Final Torque & Test — Tighten the clamp bolt fully. Squeeze the lever firmly several times and confirm no slipping, full spring return, and clean braking with no drag.

Installation: Pivot Piece Replacement

Only follow these steps if you notice brake drag or if the original pivot bolt resists threading. Tool needed: 4 mm hex key.

1. Loosen & Remove Lever — Back off the clamp bolt and slide the lever assembly off the handlebar.
2. Push Out the Pivot Bolt — Apply steady inward pressure; the bolt slides free without force.
3. Remove Pivot Assembly — Note the order: pivot piece → coil spring → metal spacer.
4. Inspect the Lever Body — Wipe the bore clean before fitting the replacement pivot piece.
5. Thread Spring onto Bolt — Seat the coil spring with the free tail pointing outward.
6. Insert Assembly into Lever — Hook the spring tail into the notch inside the lever body.
7. Install Replacement Pivot — Press the new pivot piece flush against the lever body with no visible gap.
8. Tighten with 4 mm Hex Key — Snug-tight, then back off a quarter turn so the lever pivots freely.
9. Reinstall and Test — Clamp lever back on the bar. Pull the brake — lever springs back fully with no drag.
